About this place
Dip chewy noodles into a light salt-and-pork-bone broth scented with fragrant green onion oil: the green onion salt dipping noodles are a good choice if you fancy something different from miso ramen at Himuro Ueno. One diner found that the mild broth, long green onions and fragrant oil brought out the best in the noodles. The menu also lists a free large serving, with an extra charge for an extra-large one, so you can adjust the portion to suit your appetite.
The signature Sapporo miso ramen is a classic option when you want the richness of miso. Miso butter and corn ramen and miso ramen with chashu are also available, offering ways to add toppings to a miso bowl. For a spicier meal, try the fiery ramen with a spicy miso base, Tekka Men, or Miso Orochon, a mildly spicy miso ramen packed with vegetables. One diner added wakame seaweed and green onions to Tekka Men; toppings can be combined to suit your taste for heat.
Alongside ramen, the menu includes dipping noodles with miso sauce and seafood-and-pork-bone broth; some varieties offer a free large serving and an extra-charge extra-large portion. A set of gyoza and draft beer is listed too, whether you want a side with your meal or a late-night finish. The Ueno branch stays open into the early hours on some days: until 3:30 the following morning on weekdays and Saturdays, and until 2:00 on Sundays. Payment is cash only, so come prepared.
